The Off-Road Business Association, Inc. ("ORBA," "we," "us" or "our") explains in this policy how we collect, use and disclose personal information in connection with offroadbusiness.org, memberships, newsletter subscriptions and related communications.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide when you contact us, submit a form, subscribe to updates or apply for or purchase a membership. Depending on your interaction, this may include your name, business name, job title, email address, telephone number, mailing or billing address, membership details, communication preferences and the content of your messages.
Our website and service providers may also collect technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device details, referring pages, pages visited, interaction events, timestamps and security or error logs. Cookies and similar technologies may be used as described below.
Payments are processed through Stripe. We receive contact, membership and transaction information needed to administer your purchase and reconcile payments. Stripe handles information under its privacy policy. Please do not send passwords, full payment card details or other sensitive information through ordinary contact forms.
How we use information
We use personal information to respond to inquiries; administer memberships, payments and member services; send requested news and updates; manage communication preferences; operate and improve our website; measure website use and advertising effectiveness; prevent fraud and misuse; maintain appropriate records; and comply with legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
How we disclose information
We disclose information to providers that support our operations, including website hosting, form processing, email delivery, membership administration, payment processing, analytics and advertising services. The information disclosed depends on the service provided. Providers may also process information for their own purposes as described in their notices, including the Google and Meta notices referenced below.
We may also disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, as permitted by law to protect people or legal rights, in connection with an organizational transaction such as a merger or reorganization, or at your direction or with your consent.
Cookies and tracking technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Cookies, pixels and similar technologies can support website functions, measure visits and interactions, and help evaluate advertising.
For the website launch, we plan to use Google Analytics to understand website engagement and improve the site, and Meta Pixel, also called Facebook Pixel, to measure advertising results. These tools send Google or Meta information such as pages viewed, interaction events, device and browser details, network information and online identifiers. Google processes IP addresses to derive approximate location. Meta may associate activity with an account and use it for advertising. Audience building, remarketing and personalization depend on the features enabled. See Google's privacy information and Meta's privacy notice.
These uses are subject to applicable notice, consent and opt-out requirements. You can manage cookies through your browser, although some functions may be affected and browser settings may not control every technology.
Your choices and privacy requests
You may request to stop marketing emails or update your information by emailing info@offroadbusiness.org. Membership, transaction and other necessary service messages may continue.
Depending on your state of residence and the laws that apply, you may have rights to access, correct or delete information, receive a portable copy, opt out of certain sales, sharing or targeted advertising, limit certain uses of sensitive information, or appeal a decision. Send requests to info@offroadbusiness.org. Requests may be subject to identity or authorized-agent verification and legal exceptions. We will respond as required by applicable law and will not unlawfully discriminate for exercising protected rights.
Google offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Meta offers account privacy and advertising controls. These tools supplement any choices ORBA must provide under applicable law.
Retention and security
We retain information as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, considering the relevant relationship or transaction, legal and accounting obligations, security needs and the resolution of disputes. We seek to protect personal information through reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and risks involved. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children and external websites
Our website is intended for a business audience. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and address the situation. Linked websites and external services have their own privacy notices, which you should review before providing information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services, practices or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy with an updated effective date and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law.
