ORBA Action Alert: Trail Canyon Travel Management Plan
ORBA Action Alert
Trail Canyon Travel Management Plan
Public Comments Open Through July 22, 2026
The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is accepting public comments on the Draft Environmental Assessment for the Trail Canyon Travel Management Plan through July 22, 2026. The project covers approximately 326,376 acres of public land in Kane County, Utah, and evaluates the future management of 469 miles of existing routes. The BLM is considering which routes will remain open, receive limited designations, or be closed to off-highway vehicle use.
Why This Matters
Travel management decisions have long-lasting effects on where people can ride, hunt, camp, explore, volunteer, and access public lands. They also affect local communities, tourism, organized events, and the businesses that depend on outdoor recreation. The comments submitted by the OHV community will be part of the administrative record and help to inform the BLM's final decision.
How to Make Your Comment Count
The BLM is looking for comments that are specific and relevant to the proposed plan. Comments must be received by July 22, 2026. The strongest comments explain how you use the area and why particular routes are important. If possible, identify route numbers or locations and describe how you use them for recreation, access, camping, hunting, sightseeing, stewardship, volunteer projects, or organized events. If a proposed closure or limitation would affect your ability to access the area, explain why. Personal experience and site-specific information are more helpful than broad statements for or against the plan. Please be respectful and focus on facts. Every unique comment helps build a stronger administrative record!
How to Submit Your Comment
Submit comments through the BLM’s National ePlanning website by selecting 'Participate Now' on the Trail Canyon Travel Management Plan project page or sending an email to blm_ut_kn_mail@blm.gov (please include “Trail Canyon TMP EA” in the subject line).
